Does it cost me anything to sign up?
Nope

How does your service work?
It’s pretty simple. We show contextual text ads on publisher websites, if someone clicks the link, you make a commission.

Why should we use you instead of Google AdSense ?
There are many differences between us and Google. First, is that our database of advertisers has been carefully screened to ensure that only kosher ads will ever appear on your website. Other ad services allow you to screen out overt adult content, but only YidSense ensures appropriate, kosher advertisers.

Another major difference is that our advertisers are Jewish business owners who want to reach Jewish customers. This, combined with the fact that YidSense matches advertising content to the content of your website, means that visitors will find ads that are relevant to their needs and appropriate for your website. This relevancy will increase the amount of commissions paid directly to you.

Because our advertisers are Jewish business owners, and every time a visitor to your website supports one of those businesses, they’re earning money for you and for the Jewish community.  YidSense makes it easy for Jewish businesses and the Jewish community to support each other and to celebrate shared values and traditions.

How do I set up the ads on my blog?
Click the “Ad Code Wizard” link on the left side to generate the code automatically, and place the code anyplace your blogging service allows custom HTML.

Does shape and size of the ad matter?
Well, yes and no. It doesn't matter in that you can choose any of the styles to best suit your taste and the design of your website. Some people would prefer the look of a larger skyscraper, some might find that too distracting and opt for a smaller button. Where it does matter is your potential to earn revenue. The more advertisements that show, the more the chance of relevancy to a reader, and the more the chance for said reader to click through thereby earning revenue.

If I don’t put any ads on my site until a month or two from now, is that still okay?
Yup

You don’t do it for me, right?
Right. The necessary code is generated by clicking the “Ad Code Wizard” on the left panel on your publisher home page.

Why can’t I see the ads on my blog?
Well, if you are using Weebly, I know that they are working on getting the JavaScript issue resolved and should be working soon. Wordpress.com currently does not allow JavaScript either.

Is JavaScript necessary?
Yes, at this time it is.

When will I see my first check?
A check is mailed immediately once commissions hit $50

How often do you pay?

What's the average payout for a website of my size?
This is a harder question to answer. There is no real way to tell, as the revenue is generated by clicks rather than by impressions much the same way Google's AdSense does.

How much do you charge advertisers?
Advertisers are currently charged .45 per click minimum. Advertisers also bid to be seen more frequently. Since there are keywords that are more popular than others, advertisers choose their own prices (with a minimum of .45 per click) to be seen more frequently than those with a lower bid.

How big a website do I need to join YidSense?
It doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is the amount of times your viewers click on the ads shown.

Can I see how much I’m making?
Absolutely. Just click “Revenue Summary” on the left panel and submit the dates requested

Do I make more if I place more ads?
Potentially. Exposure helps, but you may not want to overdo it.

Do I get paid per click?
Yep. Publishers are currently set at 30%

Can I set up a website just to post your ads?
I think it’s foolish, but yes you can. Content will always have to be approved before application is accepted.

What types of websites don’t you allow?
Our target audience is Jewish. As Jews, we are held to a higher moral standard and therefore not only is adult content not allowed, but we reserve the right to reject a publisher based on other moral issues as well.

What if an ad is inappropriate to my website?
Unlikely, as the ads are contextual. But email us if you feel that is the case, and we will work with you.

What type of ads do you have?
Purely contextual text ads. For now.

How come I keep seeing the same ads ?
Probably because they are the best ads for you page, based on context. Either that or you haven’t updated your page in a while.
