How do I get started?
Which sites are included in your extensive network of Jewish websites?
There are over 100 registered publishers on YidSense, though our marketing campaign has hardly started. Please email us at ads@yidsense.com for a list of publishers.
Remember, YidSense.com is still in its infancy, (as of May 1, 2009, we are nearly one year old!) and we havemillions of ad views per month! And our marketing has hardly begun.
What type of ads do you display?
Contextual text ads, similar to Google’s AdWords/AdSense
Why should I use you instead of Google AdWords?
YidSense provides advertising for hard working Jewish companies who want to target a Jewish audience.
Unlike other contextual advertising services, YidSense provides a select network of affiliate websites that attract a community of Jews who are open to your product line. These websites are carefully screened to ensure that your advertisements are reaching your audience.
This benefits you in another way too. Competition is against a much smaller group of people.
Why advertise with you?
Per-impression banner advertisements can have absolutely no connection to the viewer, and you would be paying for the ad being shown to someone who is not in the market for your product. But with our system, your ad is only shown when your keywords are present - therefore you know that there is some relevance to your product. Only then is your ad shown, hopefully the link will be clicked and result in profit to your business. Your advertising dollars could not be better spent.
Do you have information on exactly how many websites you have in your network, ad placement, rotation, etc.?
The number of websites is important for any advertising campaign, and we are working on a system to keep everyone up to date at all times. As mentioned earlier, there are currently over one hundred websites signed up.
Ad placement and rotation depends on the individual publisher, and we cannot keep track of that. We do, however, know exactly how many impressions and clicks your ad has had. That information can be viewed once you login to your account.
What does it cost to advertise?
We currently charge forty five cents per click as a base. However, as some keywords are more popular than others, it would cost more for higher priority placement. Recommended prices for higher priority keywords are shown when an ad is created. We don’t charge per impression.
How do I know how my ads are doing?
Once you login, there is a full menu of reports. You can get reports of daily performance, keyword performance as well as campaign performance.
Can I change my ads?
Any time you wish you can edit your advertisement. However since all ads must be approved first, there will be a gap from when your ad is changed and when they start showing again.
Do you charge per click?
Yes. See “What does it cost to advertise?” for more information.
What about impression fraud?
YidSense utilizes a multi-layered approach to invalid click detection and filtration. Due to the nature of our detection algorithms, we cannot disclose how our various methods are employed.
How Come I don’t see ads on some of your publisher’s websites?
Some publishers choose to wait before placing ads, some place ads on remote pages that you don’t see. Inactive publishers get weeded out eventually.
What types of websites and advertisers don’t you allow?
Our target audience is Jewish. As Jews, we are held to a higher moral standard than most and therefore not only is adult content not allowed, but we reserve the right to reject a publisher based on other moral issues as well.
What if my ad is inappropriate to a website?
Unlikely, as the ads are contextual. Email us if there are any particular concerns you may have.
Who designs the ad?
Your ad is designed on the spot with the help of our Ad Design wizard, and is ready to go in minutes.
I gave a very high bid, how come I cannot see my ad on such-and-such a website?
There are three reasons that your ad may not appear. The first reason is that when a publisher signs up we don't accept them right away, we have to make sure that the site is legitimate and what we are looking for in publisher. That is usually verified within 24 hours. Second, is that the system is optimized on an ongoing basis and it can take up to 36 hours (though usually much less time) for the publisher's site to be optimized to show the best ads. Third, and more importantly are your keywords. Your keywords can make all the difference.
Do you offer refunds if I'm not satisfied?
To a limited extent. Refunds are offered until your ad has had 2,000 impressions, or 60 days - whichever comes first.
What if the bloggers don’t like my product?
If bloggers don’t like your product I would recommend hearing them out. We live in a world where customers are no longer quiet about their feelings. They have uncontrollable say in the blogosphere and won’t hesitate to make their feelings known. The best thing to do would be to engage them in conversation. There is an excellent blog that I recommend called Old Community, New Marketing. An insightful blog.
